Both of my cars do that and will repeatedly until they run out of gas. But they're both quick and powerful (not Tesla quick) and sound great-- very pleasant, refined and potent, dare I say legendary ICE engines. But yes, I see your point. I don't feel guilty though when I rag my truck out because it was meant to be tortured, I don't think the powertrain cares one bit lol. That said, an UNDERPOWERED car is a miserable thing.
I'm a car guy, just like you. I love V8's, V6's, TT V6 or Inline 6, love the noise they make (with proper mufflers, resonators etc). I hate downsized 4 bangers, I don't care if they are turbocharged with 600 hp. I love analogue gages, and I love that until recently Toyota continued to use the old style reliable engines like the 2GR-FSE and 2UR-GSE. But I've also come to appreciate what the Electric Vehicle brings to the world. Tesla's are not necessarily my first choice, as you can see I have not bought one so far, but that's not saying they are not good, they are just not my choice. I was very doubtful of EV's, even dismissive of them...until I drove in one for the first time. Then I drove one, and now I own two of them. That doesn't mean I automatically hate ICE, on the contrary. I still love my IS350 and everyone has been pushing me to sell it while the used car market is still hot, but I chose to hold on to it because I still love it, although it's not car I primarily drive anymore. There's no reason to hate one over the other. I think once people actually start driving them, they will absolutely start loving them. And forget about 0 to 60 times and all of that. Almost every EV (except Toyota's apparently) does 0 to 60 in 5 seconds and below, it's about how they drive, how you barely need to maintain them, and their total cost of ownership over their lifespan. Also forget about all that saving the planet and going green stuff. Most people don't buy an EV for that reason

EVs have changed the equation in speed. A small family hauler would run away from most V8s with ease these days. Did you see that comparison video. The XC40 ran low 4s with ease and your Polestar 2 is even faster. Trucks still play with me from time to time and it's a silly beat down. Im sure once these big EV trucks come, it will be more equal but right now, EVs are simply fun to drive with mostly slow and laggy ICE around everywhere.

That's why I mentioned, 0 to 60 or 0 to 80 is no big deal for an EV, they are all fast now days. The distinguishing features are more charging times and battery efficiency

people in many parts of CA and NY (even Miami FL) would laugh at $2K for a 1 br so it's all relative.

I think he preordered one but probably a long way off getting one. Tesla can't even fulfill North America orders yet.

It really is the new Camcord in CA.

"Camcord"? The Plaid is the new Camry/Accord in Cali?

These weird Tesla comparisons are getting weirder by the day. A Tesla Y starts a $83,000 in Canada, how on the green-Earth do we say Camry-Accord in the same comparison.

The overall sales and ubiquity are similar in California. EVs are already over 15% of total share and growing rapidly. Only thing stopping it is lack of supply.

I think the Volvo looks the best. Tesla's are just ugly from the back.

I highly doubt it, but its possible. Tesla doesn't give press cars, so any Tesla you see in a comparison test is owned by someone and lent to the reviewer.

"CarWow" in the UK is like Edmunds, or KBB. So, so imagine a watching a review from Edmunds or KBB and accusing the reviewer of "making a silly video gushing about his Tesla", this is a real business...not some guy making YT videos lol

‘Ah. Never mind. For,some reason when I read the posts I quoted, I thought someone said he owned one of them.

He is a great reviewer IMO.

Of course, but I promise you it has become insane here. Literally we have made a 100% return in 5 years on our house. A nice (but not nicest) 1 bedroom apartment was $800 something when we moved back from CA (just temporary while we found a house) and now that same apartment is $1500. But this isn't about here.

I keep looking for chargers at these brand new high end places in spare time. These top of the line apartments should provide charging stations....but what do ya know :clears throat:, looks like landlords aren't paying for them. I'm going to keep looking. I absolutely think these places should have chargers but I don't blame companies not paying for them...apartments are greedy as hell.
