Great news for Lexus...although not as great if you are already an owner who would rather like your car to look less like the others on the road.

well if you look at it another way...
BMW vehicles on average are more expensive than Lexus vehicles...which also means they probably earn more per vehicle too...
so if you look at it this way...Lexus isn't doing all THAT great.

Do you or anybody else have more definite, solid numbers regarding this? What about warranty costs, which eats into the manufacturers' profits, and take that into consideration? Lexus 's warranty costs per vehicle should be low compared to the German counterparts given their superior reliability records.

I think your wrong and for that matter pulling information out of your a$$
BMtroubleU's M3 & M5 series and 7 series are such a low % of there sales I think Lexus is equal in pricing? In fact Autospies.com claims BMW will be dropping there pants on a very cheap lease deal on the 7 series due to poor sales. The Lexus lease programs have been consistant over the years as not to hurt resale or residual values

Good news for Lexus, continuing to be #1 in luxury sales. Its very impressive, considering BMW has so many more variants of each of their models than Lexus does. The 3series alone comes in sedan, coupe, wagon, rwd, awd, etc. Hopefully, this will motivate Lexus to increase models in their lineup (more sport car oriented, not SUV) to dominate BMW and MB even more in total sales.

Either way, I don't give a damn who's making the most per capita: the bottom line is that Lexus is biting into BMW and Mercedes' profits and biting deep. This is awesome news!! It's about time someone bruised those European bloodsuckers. I eagerly await news of Toyota-Lexus being the largest carmaker in the world....... any day now
