Do they mean fastest as in top speed?

Maybe current, but the McLaren F1 is quicker and faster, just out of production...

Then there's the Bugatti 16/4 Veyron coming out...

I don't think it's a street car.... here's why

it won't make to 100% of 7-11's in any state (can't live without them slurpee)
no New yorker will be able to drive it 2 blocks before grounding out.
nobody in idaho will be able to afford it (no offense idaho)
can never drive it in the winter or 2" or more of rain
nobody will insure it in any state except california or florida... most state's won't even have it in their database.
you need to park it before you exit on the higway because there's no way it will make it over the speed bumps at tolls (or the grooves)
it's so low you'll need to get out of the car to pay tolls or get parking tickets
you can't park it on multilevel parking lots.
can't drive it in LA or the bronx and parts of crooklyn
so let's see... just about the only place where you can drive it is if you park it off the highway in california somewhere or florida somewhere.

porsche is more like the ultimate street car... there are others... but this one is not it.

Yup, fastest top speed (231mph) is the McLaren F1 ($1.1million).
Fastest acceleration is the Enzo (3.3 sec to 60 and 11.1 to 1/4).

VSSC400: I'm cracking up reading your comments hahahaha
The manufacture tested and got certified by crashing 3 brand new Saleen S7 to prove that it will survive a headon crash. It's DOT approved... As far as driving it on a daily basis, I must agree with you, no way you can pass the giant potholes (as big as your car) we have here in Philly... and the snow we get in the Northeast. That's why the car is built and driven in Irvine, CA.

ChrisFL: The car is legally topped out @ 200mph

onelasttry: no you're right, i was so hyped after I saw the car and what it can do.... All you SoCal-ers.... lucky with the weather and the perfect road condition.... This is a must have, if you have an extra $400,000.

Richie: I like this Saleen S7 since it's an American built and it looks "bad"! What else??? Hmmm It's custom fit to your height/weight/arm-length, paddles distance etc..... man I'm super short, so that feature very appealing to me... hehehehe ( 5'3") YUP!!!

93LexoGS300: Price between Enzo and S7: $700,000. hehehehehe but if you want the ultimate driving machine then.... money isn't an issue right?

I thought the fastest production car in the world is the Koenigsegg
0 - 60: under 3.5 sec
top speed: 245mph

with 400,000 price tag plus a little more I'd get a Porsche Carrera GT

AFAIK, the Koenigsegg number of 245 has never been achieved, it's just on paper.

the S7 does have an exotic flair to it, but i can't seem to get over the fact that you'd have to hand over your $475,000 check to a ford dealer.

Respectedly disagree!

With the introduction of the S7, Steve Saleen (President) created his first vehicle not based on any previously-existing platform. Saleen Mustang is still an awesome racing machine don't get me wrong. To hand over $400,000 plus to a Ford Dealer, it would be a foolish thing to do, therefore I doubt it anyone will do such... Most people when they put down payment for the car, they will have to wait for a year, then on the day of delivery, Saleen Inc. will FLIGHT you out to Irvine, CA to their shop and deliver it to you.... I checked the list of dealers where you can place the order for this car, nothing but lexury and exortic car dealers....

But like most people mention, with this kind of cash, one most likely goes for a Porsche!!!
