That might have been the case for years, but is changing now. The actions of Ford and GM themselves, in the past two years or so, in closing or scaling back so many plants, and the massive UAW strike (largest in 50 years) have more or less woken the public up to the importance of supporting American labor. And, if one is going to buy a vehicle made overseas, at least buy one that is built by one of our allies, like South Korea, where the Encore GX and Trailblazer are built. For economic purposes, I consider Canadian-buit vehicles to be pretty much the same as those built in the U.S.
