It's a GM diesel.

I've been staring at this thing all day.

Still looks so plain, but hopefully the DRL treatment is sharp.

The interior is beautiful, and it's awesome it has Super Cruise.

And it's a shame it won't get the Blackwing V8. Even though the 6.2 is more than capable and suitable, it would have been cool to have an exclusive engine option.

I thought diesels were completely dead in passenger cars in the US.

They're making a moderate comeback in light-duty trucks.

Oh, the interior is gorgeous.

It's the exterior looks I really don't like.

Watching some videos, it’s a dramatic improvement. I’m sure it will drive great with the new suspension, interior looks awesome. Exterior is classier, IMHO.

I think that brown color in the picture isn’t doing it justice. I would like to see it in black or white. I bet it would look better. I like the interior also. I have a FCA product and BMW and I personally like the BMW wheel better than the FCA touchscreen so if the controls are similar to BMW that would be great.

With that said, the Escalade has never been on my radar. It just isn’t appealing to me, whether it’s the looks or the size. I’m not a buyer for this one either.

watched a TFL video and the buttons under the screen are HVAC only, no heated/cooled seats. Hopefully commonly used things like that are accessible quickly with the wheel controller

I'm not sure what you mean by "ghetto" (and some people might take that as an ethnic or racist term)....but if you are talking about a lot of bling and chrome on a vehicle, one does not have to live in a ghetto or inner-city conditions to appreciate that. In fact, IMO, a vehicle like that is probably most-appreciated away from the inner-city, where one has a lot more room (and less traffic) to enjoy its big, luxury, cruising-characteristics.

Yeah. No idea how that the word ghetto has and implications with the Escalade

Watch top gear season 4 episode 2 - Richard and Jeremy made a hilarious mockery of the original Escalade.
