I guess nobody caught that the G70 outsold the IS, the G80 also outsold the GS, and the G90 is about 200 off the LS.
Kinda sad really... but the IS and GS just need to be replaced or let go. The current LS i’m sure hasn’t been the success lexus hoped in the u.s. not always good to have a radical styling change in what is basically a very conservative market. The LS has been ‘stately’, ‘subdued’, and VERY refined. Now it’s ‘look at curvy me!’, ‘anything but subdued’ and in some ways LESS refined than before. What could possibly go wrong?
That is good news for Genesis, hope it gives Lexus a kick in the pants to update those 2 sedans and rush a quick update to the current LC500 which includes a not outrageous V8 option/standard. The G80 had been outselling the GS for months before the dealership fiasco, G90 was outselling the LS too for months. LS500 sales are poor, this new model is a disaster for Lexus who went from one of the biggest sellers in its segment a few gens ago to now one of the worst.
