I just don't buy the structural integrity rigidity argument.
90% of customers don't even drive in such a way that needs extra bracing behind the rear seat. They need to stop making flimsy frames if they worry about rigidity.
I agree that most drivers, with their driving habits, don't need that extra bracing, but this article goes into why some automakers do, in fact, need to eliminate the folding-seats to get rigidity...you can't always have it both ways.
