Default Regional Pricing Differences?

Are there generalizations as to pre-owned prices in various parts of the country? I'm not going to fly to Petaluma to save $50 but saving a few thousand might be a reason to plan a visit to somewhere vacation-y.

There's already huge variation for pre-owned from dealer to dealer and from day to day. Only thing regional I could think of is that Subarus tend to be in high demand in Colorado, the Pacific Northwest, and the Northeast. But that would also be offset by having a lot of supply in those areas.

The market and dealer auctions tends to normalize things pretty efficiently. Especially if it's a mass market/volume type of vehicle.

What type of car? A convertible might get a higher premium in Florida than in Maine.

Check cars.com in destinations of low fare airlines from your area. In talking to some dealers in the Nashville area they get hits from all over the country and have received comments that one reason is easy access due to the large Southwest Airlines presence here.
