I see more Tesla's on the road in so-cal than Mercedes. It is far from a collectors item. Hahaha

Absolutely true. The Model S has the highest premium and the Model 3 is as high as a 911.

My wife's model 3 cost about $15 more every 6 months vs her 2014 CX-5

I don't think such a ugly car is ever going to be a collectors item.

Yup. Repairs are insanely expensive. My wife's boss got into a minor rear-ender in his Model S, with damage looking about like you'd expect. Bumper cracked and partially loose, lower part of bumper/diffuser fallen off. Repair was a little over $23k.

We pay about $2,000/year for full coverage & a $500 deductible for 3 cars The Model 3 makes up $700 of that $2K

My wife's 3 was hit while parked in the gym parking lot. $10K in damage for what doesn't look like much. We're also still waiting for the parts to come in before taking it into the shop too

electric cars do not age well because each new iteration is a big improvement over the previous. Like expecting early smartphones to be collectors items. Thats why the prices tank badly.
