Lexus’s SC300/400 debuted in 1991 and went through many well-received model revisions until it ceased production in 2010.

I lusted after the original SC when it came out and for years after. Back when I would utter the sentence "I can't imagine what 250hp would feel like!"... :D

The SC430 was never to my liking, though I have two friends with them who quite like them.

There was a very clean 2009 SC 430 at my local dealership a few months ago. It was black with a black interior. It was pristine considering it was nearly 10 years old. When I see them in that condition, it makes me realize how great the design is.

And, looks like it is still for sale for $28k. Not bad for only 37,000 miles.

Loved the car, except for the phallic and overwhelming park brake. :p

I'd drop coin on a new car tomorrow if it came with an interior like the first gen SC's. So clean, so smooth, so creamy, so rich, and so perfectly proportioned. Absolutely one of the best times in auto design.

My first Lexus was a 1993 SC400. It was a great car but was destroyed by a rear end collision while parked. I always expected to come back to an SC, but Lexus cancelled them before I could. My last few Lexus cars have been 2 ES350s, and LS460, and 3 RX's from a 400h through 2 350's. The new LC interests me, but as I near 80, but I question how much I want to spend even though there is plenty in the account to cover it.

New LC interests me, and I'm approaching 70. Never found a good used SC, so wound up with a slightly used RCF for now. Need to test drive a LC to find out if there is that much difference in it to trade in my RCF for one. Always wanted a Corvette in my early years, but now that I can afford one, not really sure if I can buy another car manufactured from a US manufacturer. Guess I got too used to Lexus reliability!

My first car was a 1993 SC300. After close to ten years I still have it and drive it every day. It’s still one of the best designed cars of all time. I hope to buy a low mileage Soarer and another SC someday. In the ten years I’ve owned the car I went from seeing them on the road all of the time to them being rare.

The SC430 was a fantastic car in it’s own way. Even though it was nothing like the original SC, it was a really nice car. I test drove one a year ago at work and really enjoyed it. It had the power, looks, and luxurious interior to make it one of my favorite cars. It’s the most sought after used car at my Lexus dealership and it’s the one we get asked about all the time. I see so many on the road still in mint condition too! It’s a very underrated car in my opinion.

The LC500 is the true successor to the first generation SC. I hope to have one someday but they cost so much.

Agreed. The 430 leaned too heavily into the lux and nowhere near sport as the predecessors did. Plus, why a hardtop convertible? No one asked for that.

I always loved the 1gen SC interior, too. So simple but so beautiful.
