The CT6 V-8 is not dead - yet!
 

Cadillac has announced that although the CT6-V is sold out, there will be a CT6 Platinum with a derated version of the 4.2 liter TT V-8. It will be rated at 500 hp instead of the CT6-v's 550 hp and will have the same 10 speed auto as the "V". The strangest part of this announcement to me is that the Platinum with the derated V-8 will be priced at about $9000 higher than the CT6-V. I guess they don't want all of these to sell out in a couple of hours.

I wonder where else the "Blackwing" V-8 will end up other than a larger version in the C8 Corvette.

GM is delaying the closing of the Hamtramck plant until January 2020.....the CT6 and Impala will continue in production, but no more Lacrosse or Volt.
