For the record, it's nicer than my 2004 LS430 too. The funny thing is that he really like my 430 and would probably rather drive it than the RX. But having had an unusually high number of automobile fatalities in our family and among friends, all the safety features of the RX made it the choice.

It's probably an american thing. We have trains, busses and taxis for our kids to move around. Cars are expensive and you can't simply "offer one" like that. In general, in the most extreme extends, we will let them drive our old cars, but I remember that I had to purchase the cars of my parents from my salary. It wasn't given to me or something like that. Don't know anybody around me that "received" a car from his parents.
