Toyota hints that a diesel 4Runner may be coming
|
Pretty big power play if they put a diesel. in it. Offroaders would go nuts
|
Update Jalopnik, posted an update from Toyota basically saying Hell to the Nah
|
Of course they would say no. Perhaps it's nothing. Or maybe something |
Toyota hasn't done any diesels here yet, I doubt they'll bring one now. A hybrid is more likely if they're looking for alternate full ICE powertrains.
When asked: Toyota denies plans to bring this or other diesel engines to the U.S. market, saying “diesel is presently not part of our strategy for North America. We are still bullish on conventional engines, hybrids and fuel cell technology.” |

https://jalopnik.com/toyota-teases-a...ner-1832452268 Could you just imagine what the lifespan of a diesel 4Runner would be? Heck, the gas versions typically last 300K or more. Local Toyota dealerships, here, sell them used, right out the door, (with a dealer-warranty) with 175K on them. |
As Bit says...diesel is dead in the USA....good riddance!
|
So why would Toyota release such an image? Even by error. How does Toyota get the RPM rating wrong. ? |
Yes please! I would order one tomorrow to replace my wife's civic.

I take it that the U.S. Army uses MPH all over the world for their vehicles? :uh: |
