Back in the day (man 2005-2006 seems like a lifetime ago), BMW would show up with 330i RWD sedans. Then, they brought along the Infiniti G35, and the Audi A4 FWD, and had you (good trick) drive the BMW first, the Infiniti and Audi, then the BMW last, to illustrate and actually exaggerate how the latter two are so front heavy. At the end of these events everyone was given a free polo shirt, and a very scary hot lap with your instructor. I bet most people would not even imagine what a 2006 330i steptronic rwd sedan is capable of when pushed to the limits. It's not just a Camry with badges. I remember they told us the Bridgestone tires got replaced every 50 miles. I said not bad they last 50k? The instructor said, "Five oh." Also, I remember asking about the xi since it was not out yet, and was told by multiple instructors, you never, ever, want to buy an AWD vehicle if you can avoid it. This of course was when top of the line 3 was doing 255/220, not 400+....

p.s. they once again brought along a FWD Audi A4 when the F30 came out, but by now it wasn't as exaggerated as neither vehicle had any feel to their steering...

p.p.s. imho BMW runs the best free events bar none. Porsche has the best cars but even they are not as organized as BMW.
