Cadillac CT6-V Sold Out
Autoweek reports that the entire first run of the CT6-V (275 units) sold out within a few hours of being offered. This is the 550hp turbocharged dual overhead cam engine. They also reported that GM is trying to keep the CT6 in production by moving it to another plant site when the current one closes.

GM is having an extremely hard time selling their middle of the road and low priced Lacrosse, XTS, and Impala sedan, GM could move the production of those cars as well. The difference with the CT6 is, the markup is incredibly high for those cars. I am sure that engine will live on in their Escalade and future trucks.

CT6 is a nice car, I was looking at the "plug-in hybrid" prior to getting my G80, just can't justify the price, Plus the fact that you can't find a Plug-In CT6 within 1000 miles of Los Angeles.

Rumor is that this is the engine for the C8 Corvette and for that application an even higher tune for more horsepower. There is also a detuned version (around 500 hp?) for the CT6 Platinum edition. I hope the CT6 survives the current cuts. It is a great chassis that is both light and stiff. With the twin cam V-8, it should be a great performer. Now, fix the interior to compete with the best of the luxe cars.

It's interesting, though, that they apparently just might keep the CT6 in production. That's at least a start. I'd consider an AWD version of it, though it's generally more than I'd want to spend. And I don't think that present versions, despite the Cadillac nameplate, ride quite as comfortably as an 18" wheel Lacrosse.
Also interesting that the CT6-V version sold out that quickly, even if only 275 units. The CTS-V and ATS-V traditionally have had more appeal among enthusiasts.

Forgot about the Corvette. The new black wing engine will be hand crafted in Bowling Green.
