Shape has not changed much... but man that grille looks like a fence.

It's so odd that the hood is cut out to make way for the grill that has risen north of just the front bumper. Doesn't look bad, just odd.

At least with the Avalon, the top of the grill doesn't extend past the upper limit of the headlight. On the 7, theres no alignment between the two elements and it looks randomly placed.

Freighliner grille on a premium luxury sedan? That takes guts. Yet it doesn't look as bad as one might have thought.
I rather see BMW ditch the dated split grille, which would open up a new world of moderness and design direction. Stylizing two separate shapes is much more difficult than stylizing one single shape. They are being held back with the split grille.

What is it about the 7 and its butt? It hasn't looked tidy since the 90's.

At least all the vehicles have shed that straight edge and the roundel goes up with the hood.

Seems like MB and Audi always know how to style vehicles ahead of the competition.

S Class is always king!

p.s. are those really the 7 mirrors or just a rendering.

I think the rear looks fine but , gee what are they thinking with the front, on the x7 I understand it's fine but on the sedans? Is this going to carry over to all the BMW sedans ? I always liked the exterior of the current gen 7 too.
