Part of the process includes special-tuned tires. This is not from Buick marketing, but a third-party source.
Newsflash, every carmaker has "special tuned tires". Did you ever wonder why when you plug your car into TireRack there are 4 entries for the same tire model sometimes with very different costs? If you look at the description they are tuned for different brands...

Continental did not develop an entire tire model for a low volume entry level Buick. They allowed GM to tweak some of their compounds and tread design of an already existing tire.

Its all just marketing to make buyers feel special.

In fact, that appears to be the reason so many newer Buicks come with Continental ContiPro Contact tires from the factory (both my Verano and Lacrosse had them). Buick (supposedly) worked with Continental to develop quiet-riding tires for the Verano...which was specifically designed to set new standards in refinement for that size and class of sedan.

Personally speaking. I think there is some truth in Buick Quiet Tuning and some non-truth in Buick Quiet Tuning. From what I have seen, there is nothing proprietary in the methods they use to help make Buick's more quiet than other brands. Toyota does this type of marketing stuff all the time, my 4Runner 4.7 V8 is called an iForce V8, its says so right on the engine cover. When we had our LX470, it used the identical engine but was never ever referenced or called as such by Lexus. Look at Toyota hybrid, same system is called Hybrid Synergy Drive for a Toyota while in a Lexus they call it Lexus Hybrid Drive.

You being a Buick fan will soak up the reference of Quiet Tuning while I am big fan of Toyota and the name iForce sounds better than no-name for the engine, the omission by Lexus to not call their engine an iForce is intentional. I would be interested to know if GM in China uses Quiet Tuning in their marketing literature in that region.

Its not that there isn't truth, they do all the things they say they do, the things they do are just the things everybody else does. They don't do anything different or in addition.

In addition to what other companies do when working to make a vehicle as quiet as it can be.

If you look at what Lexus, Genesis, Mercedes, Audi do, its the same stuff Buick does is the point. Buick tries to make it seem like they do special things other companies don't do, but they don't.

Buick has used laminated and acoustic. side glass in some of their models dating back to the lucerne. Recently Buick has been using active noise cancellation on some of their cars. I have not seen Lexus use either of these as standard equipment on their ES or RX suvs.

So does everybody else. ES uses acousitc glass, they’re using active noise cancellation now too.

Proof is in the pudding. Drive and ES and a Lacrosse. I just did, Lacrosse is no quieter.

My mother has a 2 year old Enclave and it's very, very quiet. The engine is very quiet and refined too. It's only a smidgen less quiet than my LS.

Lexus does not use laminated or acoustic side glass on their ES. The Lacrosse does as standard. . Lexus does not use noise canceling, Buick does sometimes. So there are things one should expect in Buick if it has quiet tuning.

The new ES absolutely has acoustic side glass, and Lexus is using active noise cancellation, perhaps not in the ES. Like I said though, drive them. The Lacrosse is not as quiet.

If you want to read what Lexus did to make the ES quieter, here’s an article:

Cars are really quiet nowadays. I rode in a new Accord today and was impressed by how quiet it was. Nothing special about Buick.

Toyota Century is as quiet or quieter than a Rolls. This is why they are equipped with wool rather than leather as leather is noisy when moving about. See below on the NVH engineering of the Century.

It's a shame they lost the v12 powerplant and went with the v8 hybrid for the 2018 refresh:

It is sad they axed the V12 on the Century. Apparently according to road tests it was even smoother than the old 4-4.3L UZ V8s, IDK how that's possible lol but yeah. V12 balance perhaps.
