2020 Lexus RC F Track Edition (to be announced at Detroit)
Will be the most powerful Lexus since the LFAhttps://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.clu...3888151257.pngToyota and Lexus are pulling out the stops when it comes to sports cars at the Detroit Auto Show. In addition to the real, final reveal of the Toyota Supra, we'll also see a just-announced 2020 Lexus RC F Track Edition. According to a representative from Toyota it will be the most powerful Lexus offered since the LFA supercar. With the announcement of the hot RC comes a teaser image of the car. It shows the requisite giant carbon fiber wing that all hardcore track cars need. The car also appears to be painted in a matte gray, which will undoubtedly be matched with blue accents since blue and gray are the official colors of the Lexus F brand. A particularly impressive design element is how the F logo appears to be woven directly into the carbon fiber of the wing. As for how much power the RC F Track Edition will produce, we can at least guess a range while we wait for the reveal. The most powerful LFA, the Nurburgring Edition, made 562 horsepower, and the regular model made 552 horsepower. The most powerful Lexus on sale right now is the LC 500 with a 471 horsepower V8. At least 500 horsepower seems a safe bet for this special RC F, and it will probably come from a massaged version of the 5.0-liter V8 in the regular RC F and LC 500. Stay tuned for all the details when it's shown on January 14, 2019 in Detroit. |

I'd wager a massaged V8, more CF, (maybe) a slighter lower weight, maybe a revised front/rear bumper
One thing I’ve been curious about is if their was going to be an RC-F refresh. The regular RC got a refresh and looks great. |

The regular RC got a refresh and looks great. Personally I don't think the normal RC F's will get a big revision just like the IS F was mostly the same during its run. I hope I'm wrong though. |

The LC 500's that compete in Super GT in Japan put out roughly 540hp, as was that Pikes Peak racer a few years ago. It's not that they can't do it, it's will Lexus do a 500hp+ F? Because you're right it could be '472'hp lol |

Urgh, I would really hope its no less than 500hp. But liking the idea of this. Sort of Lexus version of MB Black Edition or BMW Competition cars I guess. Excited to see how this turns out!
Hopefully these upgrades migrate throughout the lineup. Would love to see these potential upgrades in an LC500 if a LC F for whatever reason doesn't happen (and/or becomes to expensive for me). |

Yeah I agree though, the normal F version won't get much, probably similar updates to the regular RC. |
Lexus has to learn that it can't be conservative with hp on paper for their F models AND esp. when coming out with this "track edition" .

I would be all over this if it had a 6speed Manual and reasonable pricing. |

Its not only the HP # although that’s important for Marketing. They need to improve Throttle response, Transmission shifting programming, and weight reduction. I think it will be 471-480hp, aero kit, CF bits, lightweight wheels, more aggressive suspension and ECU tuning. Maybe a New Exhaust system. MSRP will be $90-100k. |
