I can't quite explain it, I'm okay with windshield repair and detailers coming to my home and working on my car, but I'm not comfortable with Goodyear coming and taking my car away. At the same time, I am okay with Hyundai's service where they come and take your car for maintenance and drop you off a loaner. I don't know exactly what it is that I distrust about the Goodyear tire delivery idea. I think I would like it more if they could somehow balance the tires on a set of wheel in advance and then just swap out my wheels and tires on the spot. That would be awesome, but I'm not thinking about the logistics and wheel swap costs. It could work if you somehow subscribed to the service and were "renting" wheels and you just pick the tire and wheel combo you want at the next rotation or replacement cycle.

Goodyear doesn’t take your car. They come to your house and replace your tires in your driveway. All the mounting and balancing equipment is right there in the truck, that’s the point.

BTW, most Lexus dealers will pick up and drop off your car for service too.

Drove by a Goodyear shop the other day, and their new Roll trucks were out front:

Oooh, I see. Had it confused with their valet service. So the trucks are equipped to balance or road-force balance?

I wouldn't give some Goodyear Tire shop employee my car to drive to his shop either. But this was the title of the article in Post #1:

Technicians will bring tires to you and install them on the spot

Yep, there are already third party services that do this too. You can order any tires on Tire Rack and ship them to a mobile installer now.
