Default Great product....paint touch up stickers...

So after watching a YouTube video I ordered some of these. They are color matched stickers for paint touch up. The other day a valet scuffed one side of the very lower lip of my front bumper, basically invisible from standing, but annoying to me nonetheless. I figured it was a great opportunity to try out one of these stickers.

They come with a big sheet so you can cut your own shapes, and a bunch of different shapes pre-cut you can use. The material is stretchable, you can stretch it around corners and contours, etc. The paint match is perfect, way better for this sort of repair than touch up paint.

Not sure how well they would work on small chips, probably best to do some really fine touchup or use Dr Color Chip for that, but for a scrape or something like that, these are perfect.

The video I watched:

Thanks. I suggested those paint-match stickers to the auto industry years ago. Glad to see that somebody was finally listening.

Having just done it, I think the guy in the video did it wrong. He used two stickers having them meet at that ridge, I would have done one and stretched it over the ridge. The big plus is like he said, the metallic flake is laid down perfectly on the sticker, and wouldn't be with a touch up.

The main problem with touch-up is getting a flat smooth surface (and a perfect or close-to-perfect color match), which the stickers, for the most part, seem to address. Of course, with dings of that type, you sometimes do have to use fill-in material besides.

Yeah the material is really thin, any unevenness underneath will show. In my situation its so low on the car it doesn't matter.

The repair in that video looks horrible.

It looked better than it did with th touch up paint was the point. I wouldn’t repair something like that with this product, but for things bigger than a traditional rock chip but small enough that i wouldn’t want to have a whole panel repainted these things are a great option.

They also make color matched vinyl wrap to any factory paint color. So if you wanted to wrap any chrome trim body colored, etc...this could be an option.
