Looks great. The Supra needs to debut already!

Not bad, I like it. Though the overall aura still doesn't give me that 'charm' the Z3 and Z8 roadsters did.

love that interior!!!!

Is that a button in the middle of the steering wheel above the ///M logo?

LeX2K Aug 23, 2018 01:29 PM

Exterior is u-g-l-y did BWM hire all the designers at Ford that got fired?

Fizzboy7 Aug 23, 2018 01:33 PM

LOVE the rear. I couldn't think of a better design for sporty taillights. But the front looks like a generic, rounded blob, or something off an overstuffed Miata. Headlights are too large to be sporty. Grille is too upright. Actually, the entire front end could be lifted off a sedan. Not sporty enough. But that back end... dang... hot. The two ends look to be designed three years apart.
Agreed, interior and dash look great. Very modern and techie.
Not a bad offering overall, if they can just make the front sportier.

Looks like the heated steering wheel button I believe?

theory816 Aug 23, 2018 02:32 PM

I rather get the M8

Umm... I think we all would lol. This car is probably a third of what the M8 would cost.

Hoovey689 Aug 23, 2018 02:37 PM

^^ lol! Yeah two completely different vehicles. A small lightweight roadster vs a large GT coupe.

I would think so. That's what it is on the M550i. It's a steering wheel with waves coming out the top.

Went back tonight to stare at the dash a bit more. Perfect integration and flow. This shows one (cough cough, Audi) does not have to have a perfect rectangle jutting up from the vents to house a nav screen. And the steering wheel is so smooth and slick. If the S2000 lived to see 2019, perhaps this is what the interior could have looked like.

One thing with this new Z4. It's another example of what the newer ped crash/hood laws have done to erode design. Imagine this body, but with a lower, sleeker nose, like how the S2000 was. We had it good back then, before zombies with cell phones wandered into intersections.

Agreed, and it would seem not that many people notice like you and me. My acid test is take a look at the BMW in your garage. When you open your hood, the roundel should go up in the air. But of course it's not possible anymore to fight city hall.

I do like it...I see they still are using the straight edge on the front...rear is sweet.

Question: Does this car come in a manual, or has BMW done away with them altogether like Audi?
