Car Chat General discussion about Lexus, other auto manufacturers and automotive news.

If you had $150k to spend - what's the BEST car out there? NSX, AMG GT, R8, 911, etc?

Go to the BMW forums, even those guys would take the AMG GT over the M4 GTS

Two completely different cars IMO, but I agree, I'd take the AMG GT in a heartbeat over the M4 GTS

I really want to like the M4 GTS, I love the idea of the track variant of an already fast sports car. My issue is, you lose all the creature comforts, back seats, etc for a car that isn’t that much faster and for the price, I would by a used 996 GT3.

I think the M4 GTS would have been a hit if they sold it at the 85k mark.

+1 I'd take the AMG GT and I don't even like AMG cars LOL

The M4 GTS is an embarrassment to BMW coming from a BMW M-car lover and owner! The only other BMW I despise is the i8 - both have no power increases, nothing besides some fancy badge and deletes to charge that money is insane. This is why they don't sell well while Porsche is still raking over MSRP on their RS cars.

i wonder if it will be a collector car one day like the lightweight. Sad thing is I met someone that had one and could have sold it when it first came out for over $200k, now it seems the prices dropped like a rock.

That's funny, I also despise the i8, but solely because I find a 3 cylinder engine in a $150,000 car to be unacceptable

The market has many options for the $150k price bracket but I can honestly say after 1 year of ownership with the new NSX, there is no buyer's remorse or intentions of selling the car. Originally the plan was to keep this car for a while and transition to a Performante but that is now on the backburner.

We added a new Valveless carbon exhaust along with new race downpipes and this car sings like a McLaren now with the waste gate and blow-off valve noises!

Added some custom carbon aero goodies and now planning to do the interior in carbon next:

Congrats on the NSX, glad it is working out for you. It is the 30 year anniversary of the NSX.

s4play, do you have a clip of the new exhaust on your car? I'd love to hear it!

150k to spend? I'd do a maxed out Tesla Model S, AWD, performance tuned, updated lux interior with full autopilot. The long term maintenance will be far cheaper than a 100k + super car.
If you're patient, a ludicrous mode of Model Y would suffice whenever it is available in 2-3 years.

This is like any stock or gamble, no one knows but I'm willing to bet the GTS M3 won't be a collector car in my lifetime. I'd bet any Porsche RS car before I'd ever look at BMW.

Well for $150k range, I'm currently shopping for an Acid Green GT3 (must are a 6-speed manual) so if anyone has a lead on one LMK!
