per this forum, next gen Corolla gets an intelligent manual, that's pretty cool imho.
Pretty neat transmission! Not only does it rev-match on the downshift, but it also matches on the upshift. It's too good that some newbie might think they've mastered the manual so they look into getting a 400hp RWD manual as their next car.

I really want to see and drive one. I am not too proud to drive such a car, I just like what I like. When my dad was really young, he drove a Toyota Corolla (his 2nd car). It was a stick and he would put on driving gloves--as a kindergardener I was impressed I think the gloves had holes for the knuckles!! I also remember an incident driving in Boston near that Citgo sign, there was a heavy downpour, and the car stalled. I was worried (even back then lol). My dad said don't worry the distributor just needs to dry out and we'll be on our way. It was like an episode out of Peppa Pig (he was right)
edit holy cow, you mean to tell me Toyota is putting R where it belongs? dang! Also sounds like you can turn off the intelligent manual, which is likely the way I would prefer to drive it (only trying it would determine that)
Audi ditches the MT. Genesis adds a MT to their lineup. I would have never thought. ....and yet somehow the Stinger is only available in an auto.
My strong guess is that changes next year, if demand is strong enough. A number of Stinger owners seem to want one....and they've already got the hardware for it with the G70.

Yes, I had the same thought. I'm willing to be that there are potential Stinger buyers out there who wouldn't buy it because of the automatic.
Porsche is the only automaker in the high end realm that still offers a manual - that says a lot from the company that is the expert at upsetting their premium model cars!
