Can a dealer get a certified Lexus CPO from another dealership?

If I have a specific model/year/package in mind that my local dealer doesn’t have but some other guy does, can he get it for me? Or do I have to go make the purchase from the guy whose lot it’s on now?

I can't speak for Lexus, but years ago with MB my local dealer said it never happens. The reason given was that dealers don't want to take on a CPO that some other dealer certified, and a dealer isn't going to transfer a car just to re-certify it.
