Just have to vent- I live in Norcal, and this weekend some douchecanoe in a late model dodge ram ( what else) attempted to roll coal on my GS when i tried to pass him as he smoked out everyone behind him. I am assuming he had an accomplice in the right lane of a two lane street, as they both drove the same speed, also in a truck.
I swear, as someone who both loves diesels and imports, these people are garbage.
P.S, even a stock 4GS f sport is fast if you drive it like you stole it. I passed him but did not want to go 100 on city streets, so once i got clear , I let him pass by changing lanes. What a douche.
Intentional coal-rolling is illegal in many states, and, on top of that, is considered a Federal Offense, since the EPA outlaws it. If you got this guy's license-number or other description of the truck, you could turn him (or her) in and let the authorities take it from there......although that would not be very likely, since there probably aren't any other witnesses you could tag to back up your story. But, even so, you will probably be a better human being if you simply forget about it, don't try to take any rebuttal, or press any charges yourself. People like that often don't learn their lesson, and inevitably, Karma, God, Fate, The Law of Averages (whatever you wan to call it) will catch up to this person somewhere, sometime, and he (or she) will have to deal with the consequences.
As someone who leans conservative "coal rolling" has got to be one the stupidest phenomenon ever to appear in car/truck culture.
Seriously. To "coal roll" you have to dump a BUNCH of fuel that goes unburnt thru the turbo, egr ( like they have one still lol) and reaches the exhaust manifold and then slightly burns. You waste diesel @ 4+ a gallon and no one behind you can see or breathe. Don't get me wrong all diesels smoke under load, but unless your pulling a sled, none belch smoke.
Plus where do people that are against the environment and environmentalists of earth live in their minds, on mars? Everyone pollutes, but there's a difference when its both useless and intentional.
I think rolling coal is such a dumb thing with basically no benefits. the only time I can really remember really appreciating seeing it done was in this short clip:
there's a guy on here that was bragged about how he would coal roll people during his road rages.
I told him it's the dumbest thing that idiots in raised diesels do... of course in the internet fashion, he brought out how he was a veteran or some BS.
Don't forget to add that how he risked his life for us to have what we have here..
Yep.. after that I wasn't surprised that he enjoy coal-rolling..
I've seen @sshole coal-roll a couple in a convertible and people at bus stops.. damn.. i was so pissed just watching...
You know, if you want a hopped up diesel truck, that's fine, they are fun to drive something with 700hp that's the size of a decent boat. You want to be stupid with it, fine, go get it stuck up to the door handles in the mud, go get your *** drug across the parking lot trying to out pull a semi truck lol . .
Coal rolling is crossing the line into douche bag territory IMO. Its the same as tailgating, cutting people off, just being a total dickwad on the road.
Don't forget to add that how he risked his life for us to have what we have here..
That's true (and any veteran deserves respect for that), but by coal-rolling, he could (?) also be risking his life by doing something stupid. Blow smoke in the face of the wrong person, and he or she could come after you with a weapon. Not likely, but you certainly can't rule it out.

The issue with letting Karma deal with that person is...someone else may get caught up in his bad Karma.
my friend had a 2006 jeep liberty turbo diesel (they did actually make one here for like a year) and it was really fun to brake boost it off the line cuz uh dat diesel torque, but after like 45 it was the slowest thing ever. that's my general reason for not preferring diesels, they give you an entertaining low end shove but not much after that. and yes of course there's exceptions to that in case anyone wanted to point that out it's a shame though, that diesel jeep was really cool but unfortunately he's an idiot and blew it up.
