Rented a Ford Focus RS for a couple of days, WOW.

Love this car! Great power and the handling is just ridiculous!!!

definitely a sleeper - only 1 person really recognized it was an RS and tried (unsuccessfully) to keep up on a twisty mountain road (Audi S5). It's an inconspicuous color - Stealth Grey.

Yes the ride is pretty stiff even in 'Normal' drive mode but my God - the handling is just crazy!
It's a Base 2017 - so no Recaro seats or NAV, but NBD - still loved the base seats - hugged me nicely and kept me in place!

I would definitely consider one if something happened to my car today.

Better get one soon if you like it that much (and want a new one). It's on Ford's chopping-block for the American market.....all of the regular Ford passenger cars but the Mustang.

I find it hard to believe an S5 couldn't keep up having owned one of those myself. Maybe it was a difference in skill level between you and the other driver?

Well the S5 is over 300 lbs heavier and has only about the same horsepower (assuming it's stock, and the current model). The Focus RS is pretty hardcore from what I understand, while the S5 is not as racy as, say, an RS5. But then, skill is the biggest factor, more than likely, so you have a point. :)

IDK, the road was around 11,000-12,000 ft in altitude and I pulled away from him easily on the straights and stayed away in the sharp curves, he only would catch up when I caught up with traffic.

EDIT --- not so hard to see here...

Production of the Ford Focus RS reportedly ended in April.

What company is renting out Focus RS's?

Exactly....and the ones in stock aren't going to last forever. My strong guess is that a lot of dealerships are probably out of them by now.

Turo.com

Anyone can make their car available to rent.

^ You can rent some pretty cool stuff on Turo. There is an S2000 for rent in Nashville, next time I go to east TN on vacation I'm going to see about renting it. I'm sure there is some sort of catch like you can't put 800 miles on it in a 3 day rental lol.

And from what I've read the Focus RS is no joke. Did this one have the recaro seat option? Not sure if its an option or they are standard, that's the one consistent gripe I've seen in reviews of that car, if you are fat or built like Arnold the seats are too small/tight.

yep there's Porsche Panamera I have my eye one here as well.

No Recaro seats in this one - but yes even the base seats are made for slender folks like me! hugged me nicely! Fat dudes would definitely have issues.

These RS rocket bunnies are no joke! I just hate the fact that most owners are your typical exhaust junkies and they always love to get your attention with their unnecessary downshifting chasing that exhaust popping/crackling.

Other than that, I love the Focus RS!
