How many vehicles have gone off of these curves vs. the total number that go through them each day? There will always be accidents, misjudgments etc. In this case near Cleveland it is well marked and it's up to the driver to take it from there.
So my dad just came back from vacation in Germany.
He got an S63amg to drive around. He has S550 here. My dad is not into cars and doesn’t speed much.
He drove the car at 220km/h (about 135mph) on the Autobahn. He said it felt like going 50mph, he was shocked how capable the car is. He mostly just sits in bumper to bumper traffic in NYC lol. But he was MOST impressed by the No speed limits, no cops, no traffic and best of all NO accidents!

When I went to Sweden and Norway (in my single days), I was surprised not a single person my age (20's) had a driver's license. Not only was there no need, but everything related to driving was expensive, including the driver's license.
I used a 30 mph curve as an exaggeration to get your attention. Here's an interstate with a 35mph curve I found on google in 30 seconds. This is marked well but it still is called dead man's curve in Cleveland. There are plenty more, mostly in the east I'm sure. Plus there all kinds of exit ramps with tight curves where many have gone off the road speeding for not slowing down enough for the curve.
Thats an interchange ramp, not a highway curve. If somebody is driving through an interchange like that at 80 MPH they're an idiot. Totally different thing. I'm talking about driving along an interstate highway, there are no 35 MPH posted curves along an interstate highway.

There are highways in Utah and Arizona where its 50 miles of straight road...no curves....just straight. I've hit max speeds on these roads when I don't see a single living soul ahead or behind me. Its surreal.

It is not a ramp. It is the mainline of Interstate 90 where it turns left into Cleveland. You could be driving on I-90 for hours before coming on this curve. I don't understand your point. I agree you can drive long stretches out west at any speed you want. I'm just saying there will come a point that stretch will end so beware of what's ahead.

I don't understand YOUR point. How does somebody driving at the flow of traffic regardless of what the posted speed limit is have anything to do with whether or not they are aware of what is ahead?

Is this the curve you are talking about....on 90, coming into Cleveland from the east? I thought I'd post it, so we understand exactly what you meant.
We actually have a similar curve in the D.C. area (I'm sure Steve knows where it is) on the I-495 Capital Beltway, a few miles north of the Potomac, where I-270 meets 495.

Its nowhere near that sharp, but its a similar type of interchange yes.
My driving the speed limit paid off today. So theres this hill that has a bend around a corner. You cannot see around this corner. The posted speed limit for this corner is 30mph. I usually go 45-50 around it and so do many others. Today a teenage girl decided to run across this corner. Shes lucky that I maintained the speed limit of 30mph despite holding up 10 cars behind me.
That's why I maintain speed limit at all times.

That sort of road is also not what any of us are talking about.
I usually go 45-50 around this corner but not today. Its literally been only a week since I'v changed my driving style, lol. I apologize if my tenses are confusing. Still learning them.
