It's not always about performance. 'Slayer' can also mean the Taycan beats the Model S in sales numbers potentially. Don't underestimate the power of a badge. If I tell someone they can have a Tesla or Porsche for free, the majority will choose the latter. Once Porsche, Benz, BMW etc.. start rolling out their 100K+ EV sedans, Tesla is going to have a serious issue on their hands. The interior quality is already subject to scrutiny, now add storied names plates in the mix and Tesla's future is a bit more bleak. Personally I see them closing up shop on their 'Vehicles' in a few years and becoming solely an energy company that provides batteries for the big car companies. Cheers to the Taycan!

Probably won't make it to production. I'd wager it's to fool the general public, who aren't into cars and don't know what it is
It's already beating the sleek Model S in the 'looks' department IMO. Love the iconic and curvaceous front fenders

Porsche will price Taycan between Cayenne and Panamera
Porsche has offered new hints about the upcoming Taycan electric sedan's pricing. Instead of turning it into an exclusive range-topping model, the Taycan will slot between the Cayenne and the Panamera. Automotive Newscalculates that Porsche will price the Taycan somewhere between $86,500 (75,000 euros) and $104,500 (90,600 euros) in Germany.
That is quite near to the price range of Tesla Model S on the German market, as the 75D, without taxes, costs 74,580 euros and the 100D costs 93,780 without taxes. The range-topping P100D is priced at just under 125,000 euros. Porsche Chief Financial Officer Lutz Meschke sees Porsche offering a more expensive, high-performance version of the Taycan costing up to 200,000 euros.
In the U.S, the Cayenne starts from $65,700, while the most affordable Panamera is priced at $85,000. It will be interesting to see if the U.S. market Taycan also finds itself between those models when it's released next year.
The 0-60 time of the 600-hp Taycan is said to be less than 3.5 seconds. The NEDC cycle estimate for the Taycan's range is over 310 miles on a single charge, though that's different than the rating it will get in the U.S. An empty battery will only need four minutes to regain 62 miles of charge when it's plugged into the proper fast-charging station. The German-built, 800-volt lithium-ion battery consists of LG Chem-made pouch cells; the synchronous electric motors come courtesy of Italian company Magneti Marelli.
Yearly production of the Taycan is projected to be 20,000 units, with additional capacity possible if demand warrants it. Some 1,200 new employees will be hired at Porsche's Zuffenhausen plant.
