His old car appears to be an M240i, the new car is an M2. Proper M car vs M-sport. Different cars.
My old was m235i, the new one is M2. They are both awesome cars in their own right. When I ordered the M2 back in February, I actually went to the dealership with intent to order a sunset orange m240i, but ended up going with the M2 instead.
Faster. But that's not it, it's not an M, and never will be. You don't have a sticker under the hood stating oil must be replaced within 1200 km. Your car is not hand washed at the dealership. People in the office don't give you that you're the boss damn he's fly look when you walk past. I've always thought if you're going to spend the money and have your rear diff replaced, why not just get the M? imho the M2 has a certain desirability, I know I was planning on getting one until I was faced with the out the door price (on paper it's a steal). RS3 is likely sweet as well but that may be a V6.
The RS3 is a 5 cylinder derived from the Lambo V10. Its a rocket and does the quarter mile in the 11s stock (400 hp). Definitely an interesting little pocket rocket and 4 doors to boot.

RS3 is pretty insane - the one in the video below looks stock and runs 9s.
Oh jeez! Are most Bimmer guys going to jump on the Supra too, you think? Im hoping for minimal competition to keep markup down!
That's the thing, I absolutely refuse to pay list or above, for anything, period. I guess this means there are a lot of things in life I cannot have. I had every intention of getting a M2 back in '16, but the availability was not good, nor the pricing. So I ended up getting a used LS430 and saved a boatload. If I had gotten the M2, it would have put my 335i into the daily driver slot (seen snow like 6 times in its life, sorry bout that, 0 woulda been better) and the M woulda been a garage queen. No regrets. 1) saved a boatload of money, the LS was cheap, has been 100% reliable over 17 mos., and has low operating costs, as in gas and go 2) I live vicariously through others
Dang that E63s AMG wagon is #1, hands down my fav, this is #2

Did you actually drive the E63? I have driven the previous gen, and it was absolutely dreadful. Very boring, with muffled exhaust and soft suspension. This car is completely out of character for what it is supposed to be, doesn't even start to hold a candle to the M5.
