Drove this car around this even, and holy crap, this thing is just awesome. So much more aggressive than my old m235, and the engine/exhaust note is just amazing. It sounds better than my X6M. This is the most proper M car BMW ever made.

Maybe he just likes small M products. Repeat ownership is common......from the mid-1980s to the mid-1990s, I owned three Mazda sedans in a row.

I figured he like small Bimmers, but a 235i can be modded to be similar to an ///M2. Of course, some like the panache that the M badge gives, so just curious.

This is the second most ridiculous (based on my loving the car) thread that I know of in car chat. The first was the E63s AMG wagon.

CONGRATS!! That's what I thought I was gonna get in 2016.....

edit clarifying what I mean by ridiculous, I had to remind myself some may be offended by the use of the word

LOL Some of the guys like me with 335i's and N54's like to believe the same thing, they easily tune their N54s way beyond what the M3 puts out on a dyno. You can try to replace some control arms here and there, the rear diff, etc., it's not the same. I think you are mistaking or grouping M into F sport, which is a badge.

As for getting the same thing, not necessarily OP, but doesn't leasing cause this phenom?

So 335i w/ JB4 or BM3 isn't as fast (straightline) as an M3? Personally, I'd rock rock an RS3, as something different.

Congrats! The M2 is definitely a gem in the market right now. Did you consider anything else? As ST430 noted, RS3 is fairly interesting in this segment as well.

I forgot the OP despises sedans, so maybe an TT RS would of been on his shopping list.

Faster. But that's not it, it's not an M, and never will be. You don't have a sticker under the hood stating oil must be replaced within 1200 km. Your car is not hand washed at the dealership. People in the office don't give you that you're the boss damn he's fly look when you walk past. I've always thought if you're going to spend the money and have your rear diff replaced, why not just get the M? imho the M2 has a certain desirability, I know I was planning on getting one until I was faced with the out the door price (on paper it's a steal). RS3 is likely sweet as well but that may be a V6.

Nice choice! Someone at my work has one. I believe it is the same color as yours. I snapped a pick this morning. My phone camera did not do a good job in picking up the color. It's a very gray day here.

OCh, did you get it in a manual?

This M2 is a major contender over the new supra, and supra is at a disadvantage: no manual and those extra rear seats.

Yeah, bmw did a hell of a job with this 2 series than their first gen.
