I think part of that is simple design-necessity. When you've got big 6 and 7-liter gas engines (and diesels of comparable size) for the kind of hauling and towing that heavy-duty pick-ups do, you have to have an engine compartment and front end large and blocky enough for them and their associated hardware (heavy-duty radiators, oil-coolers, large batteries, winches, etc....) to fit, with adequate airflow around the engine block to aid in cooling. Plenty of headroom and legroom is also needed inside, of course, for the big guys in construction, ranching, hauling, etc....and their gear that typically buy and use these trucks...so that means large, blocky, square designs for the cabin as well.

No, the design of the Super Duty is a design choice. Other manufacturers have huge engines and their vehicles aren't that flat angular and ugly.

You'll find that most large pickups are styled more or less that way. Some vehicles with large engines aren't, of course, but they usually aren't designed for the same purpose.

Don't agree. I don't find the heavy duty GM or Ram trucks ugly like I do the Super Duty.

OK...your call. That's a subjective matter.

I would say all 'full size' and bigger trucks are ugly.

Of course it is, and I stated my opinion, not sure why you're arguing with me about it.

How about an award for worst (or ugliest) new interior? Anybody got any views on that? I do, but I'd like to see what some others think first.

Yeah, that was probably going to be my pick, too. That strip across the whole dash, with absolutely nothing but a video screen and a steering wheel, is ludicrous.
