Default Kia Telluride ('23 refresh added)

Apparently, KIA will get a new Crossover slotted above the Sorrento. Speculation is that the new Telluride will be based on the K900 Chassis. This would make it a competitor for the X5. Based on the platform sharing between Hyundai (Genesis) and KIA, this could mean a high end SUV from Genesis based on the G90 platform. There must be a smaller (X3) size in the works for Genesis. Could this be based on the G70 (Stinger) platform? An X3/Q5 size
crossover with RWD and 365hp seems very interesting.

Interesting. Since the K900 is a LWB flagship, similar in size to the A8L, S-class, 7x0iL, etc you would think an SUV based on it would be in the full-size segment (Q7, GLS, upcoming X7). But that definitely does look more X5-sized.

Hmm, looking at the door handles together, does it have suicide doors?

From what I understand, a Genesis GV90 SUV is already under development....probably using that same RWD K900 platform.

It might not win any beauty contests, but it's designed the way an SUV is supposed to be......two-box, tall roofline, and large square windows for space efficiency, cargo space, and outward visibility . Too many SUV-makers nowadays have forgotten that tried-and-true formula.

Not bad at all. The production version will probably be a little different.

Genesis has stated many times their SUVs will be based on premium RWD platforms which would spawn a Kia version as well. They have 2 SUVs on the way plus RWD sport coupe to go along with G70 sedan.

They are doing it the right way so far and not taking easy way out like some automakers do by utilizing cheap FWD platforms that underpin $20k cars.

If Genesis or KIA is ever to become a Lexus like success, they are going to need to over a FWD mid size bread and butter SUV.

It's not a hard and fast requirement. If they can put out a compelling product at a competitive price, a RWD model will do quite well. The X3 and GLC sell just fine, as do the higher trim lines of the Grand Cherokee and the Q5 (which though technically FWD-based is still a longitudinal layout like a proper RWD).

The RWD is a strategic move by them obviously it would of been much easier to do a FWD based SUV.
This is the right way to build Luxury brand.

Once they are taken serious then they can offer cheaper FWD dressed up Hyundais.
