Default Alex Dykes and his new Dodge Durango.

Well, it looks like King Alex (Dykes), from Alex on Autos, who I consider the best and most thorough auto reviewer in the business, went vehicle-shopping....and came home with a new Durango. Although it clearly is not a vehicle for me (or, perhaps, for some of you), he takes the time here to explain (at length, as usual) what convinced him to sign on the dotted line for it.

Congratulations, Alex....enjoy it.

Budget some time if you plan to watch all of it. As usual, he goes on for the better part of a half an hour. Almost all of his reviews are at least twenty minutes.

I believe I've mentioned before that my in-laws recently picked up a new Durango. Their number one factor in choosing the Durango was towing capacity. It's very competitive in this area.

King Alex? Sounds like a bromance. I like him well enough but he does go on a bit long for my taste. He does lay out the facts though if one is taking an in depth look at a vehicle. .

I call him King Alex because, IMO, even with his somewhat monotonous droning voice, he knows his stuff, and is arguably the best reviewer in the buisness. He covers a vehicle, nose to tail, like no one else I've seen.....nothing gets past this guy. I consider my own reviews primitive in comparison.

^^^ Lol. He's smart in that way in choosing an allitertive and marketable YT handle without using his last name. Interesting choice for him. Wonder if he'll do a long term update/review.

I actually like his reviews too, as long as its a vehicle that interests me. If its not a vehicle that specifically I want to know a lot about I can't get through them.

Watched 3 Min of the Durango and turned it off. Yet, watched the whole Expedition review.

He's the most annoying reviewer I've yet to see, going on and on forever about plastic being a little better in one cheap crapbucket over another cheap crapbucket, or some other moot details that no one cares about.

I disagree. Those things are important to me in a car, and his description of the different materials in a car and how they compare to a car's competitors is something I find really interesting.

Like I said though, has to be a car or a segment I'm interested in though

long reviews yes, but that's the beauty of youtube... skip forward or even just play them at faster than normal speed (youtube impressively keeps audio same pitch). but i skip ahead looking at his handy A-E rankings at top... i don't need to listen to all the verbiage.

not sure i've ever seen a 'long term review' from alex on anything and i doubt he'll do it on his own vehicle so i wouldn't bet on it.
