Talking got a g90! (updates)

surprised? i am a bit.

i know, a big suv fan and i get a sedan. well i'd become tired of the jeep's stiff non-adaptive non-adjustable ride and lack of rear seat room and decided i wanted something quiet comfortable and roomy and no suv was doing it for me except maybe a q7. i decided to checkout a genesis g90 at the local dealer and now i'm driving it. a test drive and that was it basically... quiet, refined, very comfortable ride, seats are insane, lexicon audio great, the 3.3 turbo v6 has more power (and smooth delivery) than i'll ever need, heads up display, and so much more.

one quick pic for now.

The pinstripe leads me to doubt the veracity but the thought of the big cat getting out of a Cry Slur fills me with joy

What do I have to post to convince you guys?

Some impressions...
  • Heads up display has speed, cruise, nav, lane assist / blindspots indicators... Very nice, except you can't see them with polarized sunglasses on
  • First time with a 'controller' vs a touch screen... Takes some getting used to but it's quick now I know it
  • Center screen is huge and AWESOME and so glad it's not one sticking out the top of the dash
  • Locking the doors (key or door button) makes the side mirrors fold in and the car unlocks as I walk up to it, the mirrors fold out and the courtesy lights under the mirrors project the Genesis logo io the ground lol
  • Doors auto close so no need to slam
  • Trunk auto opens if you stand behind the car for a few seconds, and buttons to power close or close and lock doors (nice touch)
  • Drivetrain not entirely invisible but quiet and smooth
  • 3.3 twin turbo 6 is plenty powerful enough
  • Has 64gb of storage in infotainment so I just copied all my music to it and done. To add more I plug in USB and copy to 'jukebox'
  • Infotainment way quicker and better than Jeep's
  • Screen can be split about 2/3rd 1/3rd with two functions like music and nav
  • Google search button on mirror is incredible
  • Adaptive suspension, steering and drivetrain responsiveness settings nice allowing an 'individual' mode
  • Power rear side and back window shades very nice
  • Rear seat room excellent
  • Trunk is huge
  • Front seat adjustment is insane lol

Enough for now

Awesome if it is not a April Fools joke, welcome back to attractive vehicles(sedans). I have my eye on the G90, it will likely be my next car after a LS460 if I can ever find and get a decent one. No more cracks about me liking interiors with lots of physical buttons because you got one of the last hold outs now.

Once you get used to gliding along in a big flagship sedan its hard to drive anything else on a daily basis. Like I've said before, I've only driven two SUV/Crossovers I truly felt didn't give up any riding/driving comfort coming from a flagship sedan, and those are a full Range Rover, and an Audi Q7 on the air suspension. I tried to go down in size too, I drove the new E Class and the 5 Series and while really nice, just felt really small and inferior after being used to a big body flagship car.

I know clearly people are leaving sedans for crossovers, but I just don't get it...I've tried! I just can't make myself do it. Love having one in the family but not for a daily.

That G90 will really grow on you too as you drive it, and when you drive something else for a while, on a trip or something and get back into it, it will astonish you.
