it is fun little car for city driving... you can even drive it 100 mph on the highway, although it prefers to cruise at around 80-85 mph.

Generally cars this small have simpler suspensions, so not much hot hatch potential... but I guess they did introduce Yaris GRMN? It is kind of ultimate hot hatch for Europe.

The Peugeot and Citroen versions of this are nicer looking. The Aygo is a bit of a munter. These cars are popular as first cars for kids as you can pick them up new for buttons, often with insurance included.

Where's that insurance coming from? Subsidized by Toyota itself?

The manufacturers subsidise it. Peugeot’s is probably the most comprehensive. If you’re 18 and agree to have a telematics device fitted you get the car, 3 years warranty, 3 years road tax, 3 years roadside assistance and 3 years insurance for a single payment. The kid just adds fuel. With insurance rates for young drivers so high it’s a good way to get into a new car and once they have a couple of years insurance history it’s much easier and cheaper to get insurance in the future.

Andy is talking about UK, but it is funny how everywhere is different - for instance i cant imagine anyone in the US thinking paying $200/month for Aygo is cheap.

Just to clarify, is that $200 in the equivalent of U.S. dollars?

yes... thats the low down payment option on Toyota UK website for 42 month lease of Aygo.

What can you get for $200/month in the US?

As to the Aygo vs C1 and 107 - C1 is cutie pie for girls, and 107 is just badly designed. Aygo sells the best.
