HPFP failure all day! Joking aside, when the motor was working, it was one smooth and powerful operator. Easy gains by Dinan, Vishnu, JB3 etc.. as well

That looks more like a trickle charger lead than a jumper lead. This was one strong engine, full of unreliable sensors and leaky components, but all could be replaced with no ill effect to the engine itself. it's worst killer was by overheating due to water pump failure.

N54 was a tuneable motor, but with the brains being faulty its basically a wallet burner. I think the N20i was a more strong engine, really the workshorse with plenty of stability compartively to their first and second gen FI motors (n54/n55) B series seem to be well refined and "reliable", but the tunablilty is soo much more with the 54 series.
