Agreed with the Meh. I don't see this breaking any new real ground. Also New York concept brings back memories of the Chrysler New Yorker, complete with robo-talking voice, "turbo power", "rich Corinthian leather", and a smooth talking late 20th century megalomaniac warlord as its pitchman.

Nothing wow about this, generic meaningless concept car styling, could be anything.

I think it looks great. Rumor is that this is the styling prototype for the next G80. It's already A6 size (or larger) and this new shape does indeed hint at A7 style. The 3.3 TT V-6 has some room to grow in horsepower to 400+ and Hyundai has a 3.8 TT V-6 in the works that could move the performance to S7 levels.

I wonder what they will do with the V-8? Turbo at a smaller displacement or even at the full 5 liters is possible.

Generic? I think it looks great and would buy one without hesitation just on the looks. Problem is it is not going to look like that by the time it goes on sale and will be much more conservative but the direction Genesis is going in styling is very good, better then Lexus in my opinion.

Wheels and tires are awful. Looks almost like the wheels off a 19th-century horse-wagon. Also, I agree with Aron on too many automotive names in the past being taken from New York...Fifth Avenue, Park Avenue, New Yorker, Hudson (river), Lincoln (tunnel), etc.....

Actually, the current G80 is not that far off from it, style-wise, though, of course, it avoids those wagon-wheels.

This was from the 2016 New York Show, was a design precursor to the now debuted G70.

Lol. This thread needs to time travel back to March 2016 when the New York Concept was unveiled at the New York auto show. It was introduced as a future styling exercise and also as a potential Genesis hybrid car. There are more pics of it online.

I like it.
It has a Aston Martin’esque flavor to it.
