As the title suggest, what abbreviations have you heard for automakers? Any automaker.



Audi: Accelerates Under Demonic Influence

BMW: Break My Wallet
BMW: Bring Money With
BMW: Bus, Metro, Walk
BMW: Big Money Wasted
BMW: Bavaria Manure Wagon
BMW: Break My Window

Fiat: Fix it Again Tony
Fiat: Funny Italian Automotive Technology
Fiat: Failed Italian Automobile Technology

Ford: Fix or Repair Daily
Ford: First on Race Day
Ford: Fast only Rolling Downhill
Ford: Found on Road Dead
Ford: Failed on Rainy Day
Ford: Frequent Overhaul, Rapid Depreciation

GM: Government Motors
GM: Generally Malfuntions
GMC: Great, More Crap

Honda: Hold On Not Done Accelerating

Kia: Killed In Action

Lotus: Lots Of Trouble, Usually Serious

Oldsmobile: Old Ladies Driving Slowly Making Others Behind Infuriated and Late Everyday

Saab: Save Again After Banking
Saab: Swedish Auto Always Broken

VW: Virtually Worthless

Lol, the seed must have been planted in that reliability thread. But here goes:

BMW - Bring Money With
FORD - Found on the Road Dead
GM - Government Motors, Generally Malfunctions
GMC - Great! More Crap
FIAT - Funny Italian Automotive Technology, Failed Italian Automobile Technology

Those three (plus Ford: Found on Road Dead and GTO: Gas, Tires, and Oil) go back to when I was in high school.....late 60s.

Since then, there have been:

GM: Government Motors (Oops, sorry, MattyG...I see you already posted that one).

Chrysler: Chry-Slur (that term, BTW, was coined by a poster right here on Car Chat).

Cadillac: Caddy-Lac (for those who play golf)

Saab: Slob (that one, BTW, was also from my high-school years)

Thunderbird: Thunderturd (again, from one of my high school comrades....it was vulgar, and I didn't agree with it).

Nissan Juke: Nissan Joke (that was one of my originals)

MG: Migrane (from all the repairs needed)

My own for SAAB and a common one for Olds.

SAAB - Save Again After Banking
Oldsmobile - Old Ladies Driving Slowly Making Others Behind Infuriated and Late Everyday

FORD : F*d On a Rainy Day or Failed on a rainy day
HONDA : Hold On Not Done Accelerating
VW : Virtually Worthless
AUDI : Accelerates Under Demonic Influence
BMW : Big Money Wasted
SAAB : Swedish Auto Always Broken

Oh and FORD backwards is Driver Returns On Foot
