A reasonable equipped S4 has as many options as a fully loaded IS350 and a fully loaded G70. It just has more available options like seat massagers and side window sun shades. Option for option, its a $7k premium over the IS350. So a reasonably equipped S4 fits my argument better than a fully loaded one because the IS350 just isnt available with the same options.

Edit:

A fully loaded F sport AWD with ML and blind spot at $50.6k. A comparatively equipped S4 with Nav and sport pack is $57.8k from the Audi website. you have way more available goodies on the S4 if you want bigger tires, the virtual cockpit, massage chair and other really expensive junk but i've matched feature for feature for comparative purposes. Also, the S4 comes with waaaaaay more performance so the $7k doesn't look too bad.

you in LA? autotrader shows there are a total of 4 audi s4 for sale at or below your stated price within 1000 miles of LA. for reference, 1000 miles would include seattle, denver, billings mt, and lubbock tx. 4 total! good luck in your negotiations.

Default Sat in the new Genesis G70 today.

Was at Square One shopping centre and indoors they have a Genesis dealer. Inside they had two G80s, one G90 and he new G70. I am assuming the G70 was a prototype or pre production model. It was red with a quilted black interior with black leather and red stitching. Next to the G70 was a digital display informing you that you could pre order today at a locked in finance rate or lease rate.

Overall, the interior is fully competitive and overall a pleasant place to be. The strongest attribute would be the centre stack and controls area. All the guages were lit up and so was the infotainment system. Seemed to be pretty easy to use.

My overall all impression was that of new modern Audi materials meet the overall design feel of an Infiniti.

While I was not blown away like OMG, I was also not disappointed.

Some notes:
The window lack the slow down of Lexus as the finally close
Trunk had no auto close button or at least I did not find it
Rear seats have three stage heated seats
switches seemed nice. Especially the centre stack

Some details
Real gas door lock
unlock lock door switches are separate
Overall a nice theme to the dealer
Paint job was ok

At the end of the day, I don't think this car has the goods to convert long time Lexus, MB or Audi fans. Perhaps there is a place for it somew but I am not sure where.

Guys, say what you want but there is no denying how far Hyundai and Genesis has come. It seems like the quickest progressing company at the moment.

At this pace they will be right up there with the best.

Actually no, because they don’t sell for the same prices as the rest

Neither did Lexus in the early 90s and the original LS400 turned the luxury world upside down.
Sure it didn't have all the bells and whistles and a thousand options to add like the German cars did, but I think it's fair to say it kicked their *** in many areas despite costing MUCH less.

But Genesis is not kicking anyone’s asses.

Hyundai wasn't either the first decade or more of being in business in the US. I still think their cars are somewhat crap. But those things are everywhere you look. Clearly people like them for some reason.

However, Hyundai is not doing well. Their sales are down. And the prices they charge are not on the same level as their competitors. I will say, today at the Genesis dealer in the mall, I did not think at once that I was sitting inside technically a Hyundai product.

They are inexpensive with long warranty, to make up for shortcomings that comes with being "inexpensive".

They were inexpensive....

Have you seen how much Hyundai and Kias go for these days? It's ridiculous. Why not just pay a bit more and get something decent.

The reason why is simple. A lot of people just don't agree with you, and don't agree that they are crap...although Genesis products aren't really getting the attention they deserve.

The long term status of how well they hold up is questionable as well.

But Toyota and Honda almost across the board sell for a lot more. It’s all been discussed

Kia just took J.D. Power's crown for Best IQS (Initial Quality Survey), which means how the vehicle comes out of the factory. That pretty much co-incides with my own observations, though Opel-based Buicks also seem to rank very high along those lines. Hondas and Acuras do, too, though they have recently had a downturn in long-term reliability.

Are they perfect? No. A number of Kia and Hyundai products have seat-cusions that IMO are too firm and uncomfortable, The paint-color selection on some versions is a joke. And, except for the brand-new Stinger, they have generally refused, in the Kia/Hyundai line, to offer AWD in regular passenger cars. But it's hard to beat them for the price....when I settled on my Lacrosse, the G80 AWD was a strong temptation.
