First Congrats! The 4LS to me must be in LWB as you got!

Second, although I prefer the exterior styling of the 5LS, I prefer the 4LS' interior, in particular the plentiful amounts of Shimamoku wood trim throughout the cabin!

Third, time to ask Dave for an updated "SW17LS" name?

Thanks! I already posted in Dave's thread to change the name lol.

Lots of little reasons I did this instead of getting the 5LS. The V8, the different dynamics, inside the small gauge cluster vs the bigger fuller cluster, the wood, the real gear shifter. Etc.

2014 is after 2012. The LS was last refreshed in 2012 as a 2013 model.

From 2012 to 2018, I would have done a 3/4 life update in 2015 with the Lexus full spindle grille in a "4.75LS" Series to keep sales afloat, especially considering that the overall life span of the 4th gen LS is from 2007 to 2018.
It does cost more, but it will keep sales up.
The generation I have IS a 4.75LS, the car was refreshed in 2009 as a 2010 (the 4.5) and then refreshed again in 2012 as a 2013 (the 4.75). Another refresh would have been the 4th time the LS460 had been refreshed.

I always try to count in actual years, as opposed to using "model years" as popularized by GM's Alfred P. Sloan for marketing reasons.

So the 4LS was first released in the 2nd half of 2006 as a 2007 Model.
From 2006 to 2018 is essentially 12 years on the market.
After 3 years, the 4th generation LS got a "minor" refresh late 2009 as the "4.25LS".
After another 3 years, by the 2nd half of 2012, the 4th gen LS got a "major" update as the "4.5LS", with not only new sheet metal, but new dashboard, central console, and door trims too.

However, since then, there have been NO other sizable refreshes of the 4th generation LS, so what I'm saying is that from 2012 to 2018, the 2nd 6 year period is quite a long period to run a single nose - thus, after another 3 years, by 2015 I would have done a 2nd minor facelift with a new nose only in 2015 as a so called "4.75LS", and this would have sustained sales for the final 3 year period between 2015 to 2018.

Because the 4th gen LS received a minor 1/4 facelift after 3 years in 2009, the 2012 4.5LS [actual year] should be able to receive another minor 1/4 facelift after 3 years as the "4.75LS" in 2015 [actual year].
Only an upgraded nose would be needed; no need for new tail, nor dash, nor door trims.

In the old days, Mercedes, Volvo and Saab etc, used to use 12 year model cycles, or even longer, and there'd be lots of refreshes in between - 4 refreshes, 5 refreshes, or more - it doesn't matter, but it's a good idea to refresh every 3 years, rather than running the same nose for 6 years as the 4.5LS has done...

Haha, well we can't all be on the right side!

By all means enjoy.
In life nothing is perfect.
I'm just trying to give Lexus constructive feedback.
I'm sure they could have done better than this.

However your new 4.5LS remains a great car.
It debuted with over 35,000 S Class stomping sales in its first full year.
Congratulations on your new purchase.

Just me, but I don't like the way the new TMC president is telling all his staff to stop making boring cars.
I give some constructive feedback, but we just have to wait & see, otherwise move back to purchasi g Mercedes etc...

I have to agree with peteharvey. The Camry, Corolla, Highlander, ES, and RX did not achieve the huge sales figures they all did by imitating Porsches LOL.

Steve, I wouldn't be at all surprized if Lexus have staff monitoring CLF for constructive feedback.

It will be interesting to see what makes of TMC's overall performance in 2017 last year.

What will you do with the bridgestones that will only have a few hundred miles on them?

Likely true, but your detailed critiques should be in relevant threads not sw15ls's new car one, thanks.

Unfortunately, they are so terrible the most anybody will give me for them is $15 a tire, and id have to pick them up from the installer and take them someplace else. Not worth the hassle probably.
