Tpms
I have a 2006 is250,low tire message came on,discount tire said dead battery on the rear driver tire.
I bought a use one that was tested, discount installed it now it says check system?
Do I need to get one from a 2006 is250 used?
I went to Toyota they said they can program the system for 110.00
but if that used sensor doesn't program it's my loss.
I when to lexus tpms is over 200.00 for one.
they offered to do a diagnostic on the tpms for 79.99 and if they can reset it with there hand tool.thats all.
but if they can't I would have to buy a new one and pay 200+ resetting tpms.
what to do???? Any help if anyone has gone through this?

It's a Staggered set.
discount check them, they are reading the tire pressure. They have a tool to reset them, they did it to my maxima. For some reason they couldnt.they said to take it to the dealer,I went to 3 different discount tire shops.

bought an entire set of OEM ones for $145 shipped, dont ever go to the dealer. Discount programmed it for free for me if they installed it. They have to program the secondary set of TPMS with the new one also, there are buttons on the left side of the steering column or else youre going to get a Check System light. You might as well buy an entire set because its about that time when they all will start failing. All 4 of mine have been replaced by discount.

If they can't find it either they are being lazy or the battery died in it and that is why they cannot find it. Check under the dash to see if there is a button that resets them. On my ls430 there is a button under the dash near the pedals that you press and it resets the lights.

Club lexus members, the new battery worked,...I opened the back, clipped off the metal clips.Thats attached to the mother board.Soder the clips back with the new battery witgh attached clips.Silicone it back with white fast drying silicone.waited a couple days to dry.
I didn' take it back to discount tire bc 3 of them couldn't help(clueless).I tried walmart tire and lube,Lord and behold they installed the tpms that I repaired and it worked with no more light.
Who would guess walmart figured it out but 3 discount tires, two tire shops couldn't...All they said was it' a lexus and they are very sensitive.
Anyone want info in what I did just ask..

Im not sure what tgghey did,but a localm t ire shop said it didn' work was not being picked upl with his programme, discount tire said that those tpms are meant to be replaced not to be opening them up and replacing batteries.

Readers do keep in mind that most silicone products are very acidic and the acids and moisture needed to cure them and make them harmless can eat and attack thin platings like that found on battery.
Having never gutted a tpms, well I hope it works!
FWIW - techstream is the diy answer....
