7 Series M760Li on the Autobahn!

The way that thing pulls from about 120kph to about 280kph is just insane. Thats like 75mph to about 170mph. Also that 320kph top speed is about 198mph. Maybe the OP can inform us of the "official" top speed of this amazing BMW, all I know is it gets there in a DAMN hurry, the way it pulls past 140mph or so is just crazy. A lot of the older supercars from the 80's/90's have top speeds of 180, 190, near or just over 200mph but they take forever to get there.
I'm also kind of wondering what sort of aerodynamic tricks this car has, what the coefficient of drag is, as once you start going that fast aero plays just as much, if not more of a role than raw horsepower.

Saw that car at the 540i autocross event. The "genius" was explaining to me it's his favorite car and for whatever reason has 2 batteries? Like a RAM 2500 turbodiesel? Having driven a couple of B7's at events, for whatever reason, I prefer small cars that go fast...

The 740 reminds me of a Jaguar XJ that I was behind this AM saying 3.0. These motors are ok on paper, but too small imho for these large vehicles....but this is the new way. 5 series with 4 cyl motors, etc. If people don't like 528's, make the number larger, 530. The number is deliberately done to confuse...an E39 540i is 8 cyl., and on and on...

Reports last year stated that BMW internally pitted blame for the 7er's slow sales on its lackluster design. Nobody cares about class-leading tech and all the other good attributes of a luxury car if it doesn't strike any emotion into a potential customer. After all, shopping for luxury vehicles are an emotional decision, especially the more expensive they get.

Agreed on the design of the 7 series inside and out, its about as exciting as plain oatmeal. The interior is really well made though, stuff like the speaker grills, buttons, you expect to be silver painted plastic are actually metal. Once again though, the interior design just doesn't have the pizzaz or flair like the upcoming Lexus LS or a Benz S-class, it just looks really generic and plain, which is kind of a BMW tradition.

Everyone rambles about lack of V8 here and there but the true gem in big engines is V12, that is the difference maker. I couldn't care less about 8 or 6 cylinders especially in twin turbo/hybrid era but V10s and V12s are something else.

Holy Moly that is insanity. I've been to Europe about 15 years ago and on the autobahn. Unfortunately we were in a tour bus (with broken A/C in a literal 102 degree heatwave--so I was THAT American *****ing about air conditioning lol), only going 60 or so but it was INSANE how cars would fly by. I'm talking Golfs, not just V12 Bimmers and high performance cars.

Also, I've got to say this and I'm not trying to sound arrogant, Lexus fanboy etc....but BMW's aren't known for reliability. I know they're engineered for the autobahn, etc., but how much of this type of hard driving (abuse?) can they really handle before things start to go wrong? Yes that's effortless speed but those are ALOT of moving parts working very hard.
