Think LC category. A high-end model with a price to match. The blue logo badging on this one likely indicates a hybrid.

Lengthwise I believe it's just over 197 inches. X6 is about 194.
that difference is nothing and the lexus/toyota models are long due to giant front/rear ends these days.

Probably targeting the upcoming Audi Q8 and full size Range Rover.
q8 and full size range rover must be 3 row, no? this concept looks to be 4 (as shown) or 5 seater.

the hood/front proportion of the car is whacked to me... WAY too long. looks like it's, 'compensating' for something. not much under the hood maybe?

Top end Range Rover is 2 row only. Range Rover Sport oddly has a super tiny 3rd row, Discovery also has a 3rd row. Audi Q8, I'm just assuming from the chopped roofline and Bentayga that it would be 2 row.

Lexus front overhang even on the RWD cars like the LS, LC and this LF-1 is indeed a bit perplexing.

Never said that. The LS is an expensive vehicle too.

Already a strong positive reception (design wise), Maxim described the LF-1 as jaw-dropping. Lexus says this concept is built for production meaning every aspect is ready to go into production as soon as TMC greenlights this car. It will not take as long as the LFLC to come to production.

I hope this thing gets built. We are ready to buy one if they tone down the mechanical insect front end..

if the design is indeed ready, i hope the front end is in the process of going through a few more design iterations before the design gets frozen and released for production.

Some are speculating this is a glimpse into the already pre-planned production version.

I doubt Lexus would allow this photo out in the wild if they didn't want people knowing what the LF-1 would look like when not in concept form.

While I agree this will likely come to market in some shape or form as they absolutely need it to compete with the premium crossovers from BMW, Mercedes, Audi, Genesis, Maserati, Alfa, Jaguar, Volvo and Land Rover, I don't believe you're seeing the non-concept form on the other half of that clay model (if that's what you're indicating). That's simply two versions of the concept, with the driver side being the one closer to the one that moved forward for the larger show car.

Interesting quote from VP of Marketing for Lexus, in regards to what the LF-1 Concept represents

"We don't want to be the 'race car' brand; we don't want to be the 'quiet ride' brand. We want to be the brand which is emotionally connected with the customer," said Cooper Ericksen, vice president of U.S. marketing for Lexus.

Just some speculation, as is your post.

Though its eerily similar if you split screen the 5LS concept and it's production variant. Which was also already production ready, hence the super fast move into production.

What astonishes me is that the LF1 would essentially compete in the space that the Infiniti FX/QX70 has just exited (with it being discontinued). Their marketing departments are sure different....
