Pretty obvious, isn't it? He/she is a Lexus test driver - says so right under their username...

This thing is just awkward, IMO; sort of reminds me of when Lexus came out with the ICX50C - both seem(ed) like afterthoughts without a lot of serious effort. I sort of wanted to like RX350L as we'll be looking to replace our Cayenne with a 3-row SUV in the next year. The looks, usefulness of the 3rd row, and price make it quite unattractive. Compared to this, the GX seems like a much better option for the incremental price difference although I do understand that is a "different animal."

Did you mean the IS250/350C convertible? Looks like a typo.

If you want one, it might be a good idea to consider one now. The future of the GX may be doubtful in the American market. That doesn't mean there are any immediate plans to drop it, but it is known that it is (potentially) on the chopping block from low sales....even in the hot SUV market of today.

GX has hot sales, not low sales

Problem is that Lexus did not know this 5-6 years ago when they should have started redesign... but since new Prado is coming by 2020, I assume GX will be there too.

The RX vastly outsells it in the American market....roughly 4 to 1.

Third row seat doesn’t interest me, I liked the taller roof line. I have some grandkids that might get stuffed back, there once in a while but other than that probably won’t get used much. The driving assist is squirrelly the steering wheel felt like it was binding on me until the service manager explained the whole system to me. I have been driving a long time and I can see other comments about usefulness on a long trip but I need some time before I can relinquish control of the wheel. Might just be me and after a year I might be singing it’s praises. Like I said, the jury is still out on the drivers assist but this car is hands down my best Lexus yet. I even like the huge grill it’s distinctive

Yes, it was indeed a typo - I was referring to the IS convertible. Only issue I have with the GX is the barndoor; my wife on the other hand didn’t enjoy driving it when we test drove one back in 2013. So we have some hurdles to overcome but it’s definitely on the short list.

Bumping this old thread only because of the ClubLexus mention/shout-out from these guys.
