The new IS 300 (as it's now called)
The IS is loaded with safety features such as rear camera, forward radar, lane changing warning etc., but it appears not to have any means of recording a journey visually, as a dash cam does? Can Lexus provide forward and rear cameras fitted or intergrated into the vehicle without it being a bolt on extra from one of the many dash cam suppliers? These are usually fitted to the windscreen or behind the mirror, which to my mind are quite ugly with wires trailing, and I'm not sure if they work with the rain sensor? Can anyone enlighten me on this subject please.

I doubt that. You might want to check out some threads where owners have installed dash cams before:

I see in the car-review section of the weekend newspaper that a local Lexus dealership is offering an installed dashcam. Not having looked at the fine print, I do not know what the price is or how professional the installation is (or who actually performs the installation).

Welcome to CL as a new poster.
Also, since you are in Britain, before you have one installed, you might want to read this link, which explains the laws on dash-cams in your country.
