And the S Class is so big its pretty clear its the S Class.
It wouldn't bother me one bit that other Mercedes look similar. Anyways the S Class outsells everything else in the segment by an order of magnitude, and its the most expensive...so clearly people are okay with it lol.
With this 6cyl S Class? They will be even more untouchable.

I don't see consumers thinking that way... someone buying a c class doesn't want something looking cheap and wants something that's 'obviously' a mercedes. an s class buyer has made it and usually doesn't give a crap what others think about any resemblance to anything else.
It was interesting, though, Infiniti failed at the first attempt when they put a 4 cyl. into the G. Not sure if they lowered the number from G37 to Gsomethingelse. But as Aliyah once sung, if at first you don't succeed, dust yourself off and try again. The car cos. heard, they have, and they slam dunked.

You seldom see the E and C with the comfort package's traditional sedan grille anyway for current generation models, fortunately they don't offer a sports grille option for the S class sedan LOL ...

Very true. thats one of my knocks against the E Class, I would want the traditional grille and hood ornament.

The traditional grille with hood ornament is an available option for the E300 and E400, at least in Canada, but you get smaller 18" rims with it that do not look as good.

It's an option here too but like you said you get stuck in a low end package outside.

Love the W222 style. The beautiful curve of the roof line arch from the A pillar right back to the C pillar (where a lot of car makers mess up the side profile). Really has a presence. I've seen a couple of them on the road and there's no mistaking what Benz sedan you're looking at. IMO, the W221 kinda had its styling screwed up a little with the silly wheel arch flares, and it looks bland when you see one today. The previous model W220 was a beautiful, if unreliable car - very much a beautiful shape.
I think there's a reason MB has no problem selling any of the variants of this model.

Unlike Lexus, MB doesn't punish you with large packages that can only be had with other large packages. You can pretty much do anything you want if you special order. The lux model doesn't get stuck with anything low grade. If you want comfort, you dont want anything larger than 18" anyways
