Is this a good deal for a Civic?

You miss my point. You got the deal you got because you got it from your buddy, not because you contacted 50 dealers. Had you not known your buddy, you would have paid more because you said each of those 50 dealers couldn't meet or beat that price. So, ergo calling 50 dealers was a waste of time.
Hard work is important, but working smart is more important. Washing machines work hard.
$1,000 is just not worth calling 50 dealers to me.

correct. if i did not go through friend, i would of paid more and would of been the sucker not knowing it could go down lower. but if i didn't talk to him, i wouldn't have waste time. copy and pasting the same message on auto trader seems to go pretty fast. hours i put into all of it was 5 maybe.
buy 1000? more like 1600. thats huge IMO. since the savings we both got was pretty good, an extra 1600 off of that is great. not to mention 600 dollars in accessories. which even the OP said he could not get anyone to do and he is right.
Original poster msrp is $27,475 plus tax He paid $23,625 + Tax and Fees. Out the door was $26,100. APR = 0.9%.
Mine 29,300 MSRP plus tax. I paid 25,100 out the door.
so lets take the MSRP no tax and subtract out of the door prices.
HIS 27,475 - 26,100 = 1375
MINE 29,300 - 25,100 = 4200
Original prices vs discounted price without tax to make it more fair since he is paying 10 percent
HIS (msrp) 27,475 - (paid) 23,625 = 3850
Mine (msrp) 29,300 - (paid) 23,904 = 5396
He used a college discount, i used a military discount so the 500 off for each of us was fairly added in and compared.
but yeah, i understand what you are saying so ill leave it as that. people are different but i love dealing new cars. its so nice to compare all apples to apples unlike when bough my ISF which only talked to under 8 dealers and its hard to compare them and get a price match because mileage off, condition off, certain options were different.

Accessories wise, its not a problem. The original OTD was 26,264, but after we kept asking for mats, and he kept saying no. He dropped it down to 26,100 OTD to shut us up lol (saved us another $164). Turns out OEM mats (provided by a this thread) goes for ~$90 from dealers, and $50 from other sellers. Kind of got the better deal by reducing the OTD price lol.
No plans to mod this thing, really just a commuter and going on trips. Only thing I will do is tint (get it for the low at my work )

On a more serious note, though, just check your mailbox on any given day. More often than not, 50 different dealerships will be trying to talk to YOU.

Head ups!
I just found out that the trunk did not have a carpet cargo mat lol.. Should of looked in the trunk before but was in a rush. Then, I left town for a week+ with the car just sitting there.
Called the sales guy, he says the Civic doesn't come with them regardless.
I find that weird by Honda..
(My '12 Mazda 6 came with one as well as my '16 Lexus IS)

Might as well buy em else where. Just found it funny that it doesn't even include CARPET mat for the trunk; the cabin had carpet mats tho.

It's a Honda Civic, not a Lexus IS and not even a Mazda 6. Wouldn't surprise me at all for it not to come with a carpeted trunk mat.
FWIW, your Lexus doesn't come with one either, look on your window sticker you paid for it.
$280 for all weather mats including the trunk is cheap.

Buick charges less than that for the Lacrosse....$140 for the all-weather floor mats and $80 for the all-weather trunk-mat. ($220 total). I ordered it, of course, on my own car.
For the Civic, BTW, if the OP is not happy with the price (or if backseat ones are not needed), he or she can check out the custom-order ones from Weathertech....they generally run about $100-$150 for the two front seats. I have them in my Verano (a Christmas gift several years ago from my brother) and they are excellent, with high side-bolsters to catch all of the moisture.

yes accessories are another part of the game of making you feel you got a 'good deal' on a vehicle, only to find you end up paying hundreds of even thousands for 'accessories', some of which you may not even want but some dealers require you to get.
i personally like weathertech for inside and cargo/trunk space as they catch all dirt and i just pressure wash them to clean 'em. my gorgeous unused berber carpet mats that came with my jeep are in a box in the house.

The Weathertech stuff is excellent...I agree with Bit on that one. That is a good option. They are not always available for the back seat, though.
The cheapest way, of course, is to just pay $20 or $30 at Walmart, Target, or an auto-parts store......but, of course, you get what you pay for. Those $20-30 mats are basically generic-shaped, aren't custom-fitted, and don't cover the edges of the floor-wells, which can get soiled and dirty.

Crying over all seasons floor mats or a trunk mat is so trivial and silly. Sounds like the OP has never bought a car before.
My Corolla, and my parents 4Runner and ES350 all came with both the carpet and all season OEM rubber mat, Canadian spec Toyotas have them standard. Problem is that A) they suck and B) you technically pay for them in the grand scheme price. Nothing is for free.
Both of our Matrix and Corolla cars we bought Weathertech aftermarket rubber mats that do a far better better job that the OEM mats. My 04 4Runner has the OEM rubber mats but they don't do the best job for keeping salt off the carpet. They might even be plastic for all I know.
