Why cant Toyota steal some European designers like Hyundai and Kia did.

This thing looks like a kid toy or transformer. Lol

Wow that grill. WOW. And the infotainment screen looks lifted directly out of the new Accord. I like the rest of the car. The lines along the sides are strong and the rear looks good. BUT THAT GRILL THO.

Finally Apple Car Play. Available Adaptive Variable Suspension. Also comes with a .27 drag co. Real wood on Limited models.

Overall I like it. Really like the rear quarter from the side. Front is OK, better than current gen. I also don't mind the interior, but I would like to see a light beige interior color. This is a Japanese Buick, should sell well for Toyota.

I agree with some of the negative comments above. I started looking at some of the pictures of the new Avalon with optimism, but was soon turned off. What is it with these giant overhanging front ends (and all of the crazy creases)? I'm sure a good number of my fellow senior citizens won't mind. The rear end isn't bad but the new Avalon is a no-go here.

The goal would be to appeal to a 45-55 year old demographic. Seniors generally don't have the cash for these new expensive cars. This new Avalon is going to get a serious price hike at top end I believe.

good lord that front is awful. It looks like they took the Toyota Crown front, mixed it with the Lexus F-Sport mesh grille in the worst ways possible.

Gotta disagree with this. Seniors are the ones snapping up Avalon's, ES, MKZ, Lacrosse etc., etc. I agree that these brands need to lower the average age of their buyers but for now it's an older demographic.

I don't know what the true demographics are, only Toyota would know for sure. I am sure there is an even divide between the 50, 60 and perhaps 70 year old's. But no way does the past 60 year old crowd take up the bulk of sales.

People over 60 have money especially those that have good pensions.40-50 year olds are trying to pay for their kids still.

Oh. oh no. Why even have a front fascia at that point? Just zip tie some flashlights to the grill and ta da! That infotainment stack is horrible too

Hey some people were asking for the Mark X, well...it is here. That front is a bit too much but hey front ends are easy for Toyota to change. Besides the Avalon is expected to be relatively low volume, so no real reason to not try something different.

there you go with your sweeping statements again... perhaps you don't spend much time in florida where there's thousands of sedans way more expensive than an avalon owned by seniors.

while neither us knows for sure as you say, i'd bet money the average new avalon buyer is 60+

yeah as allen says, some zip ties and good to go.

that's the craziest rationalization i've ever read... because it's low volume let's make it unbelievably fugly since it won't matter that much LOL

and many on here roundly trashed the new accord front...

Huh...going to have to chew on this one for a while.

First impression of the dash isn't that favorable.

I'm mostly okay with the side profile and the rear. The front, well, I'm hoping it will look better in person.
