That rear console for the rear seat control is sick. Can't wait to see it get fully unveiled. Audi designs are always unique- they are one of a few manufacturers that truly stand out in my mind.

I agree. I have an IS350 with 306hp and it's competition in the 3 series or A4 is just as fast with 240 rated hp. My IS feels so slow sometimes from a start in first gear it is frustrating. I have heard its because of the gearing for fuel economy but I am averaging 18-19 mpg so that doesn't make much sense to me.
My buddy at work whose wife has a 328 as well, told me to try launch mode before I return the car, so I did. Pretty sure this car did about 5.7 or so 0-60, it felt fast. Regardless of what numbers are on paper, the German cars seem to always have a capability that is hidden or underrated.
Anyway, won't this car be revealed tomorrow? It should be a winner imho.
p.s. I don't even know what the IS350's torque number is, but I suspect it wouldn't be a flat curve, maybe I'm wrong. The 328's peak comes on very early as with most turbo cars today

Lexus IS is dead last. 7.6 seconds to 60 is really pathetic. Oh, Toyota's claimed time? 6.9 seconds. So that's why I think the new LS will be slow as heck in real world testing. Toyota greatly overstates their car's performance.

To put the IS' pokiness in perspective, the Alfa Romeo hit 60 mph in 5.2 seconds, and when the IS 200t was 5.2 seconds into its fastest acceleration run, the poor car was chugging along at 46 mph, 14 mph slower than the Alfa. That's a difference you can feel in the seat of your pants.

On paper, the HP/TQ are ok.

I also made a post in LE about Toyota's lack of engine development due to a simple lack of in house knowledge and expertise. The only engine that actually performs half decent or near advertised (although still slower) are the ones Yamaha is all over. The 2.0t is all Toyota I think it's safe to say it's a flop.
The 3.5tt is all Toyota too and, like the IS engine, it sounds nice on paper, but I bet it's slow. The 2.0 also has more torque than HP.

Motortrend tested a 2017 at 7 seconds and C&D had a 2016 at 6.8 and a 2017 at 6.5.

Though generally true the new A4 and Q7 are very bland IMO. Both look decent only if go with upgraded wheels else just too conservative and uninspiring in my mind.

That's why there's something for everyone, as far as how they are inspired. Wasn't teutonic always somehow synonymous with understatement? Look at a Golf R. In its segment, the A8 is dated, but its S version still often turns out to be more of a blast to drive than its competitors. One would expect the new one to continue along the same lines.
