Like the post on the HP says, the ad doesn't mention any chassis reinforcements, but since I love a good sleeper — and Toyota's styling in this era — I'm loving this crazy project. It's rad that the owner kept the engine in the family and didn't just default to an LS motor, like 90% of people do. Head to the HP for the full break down of this beast.

that 1UZ looks like a non-vvti, so about ~250 hp (the article said 300 hp). still a fun lil car, great power to weight and silky smooth v8

That's a beautiful restomoded classic!! 250hp in a '73 Carina is plenty. It's been updated very subtly and tastefully.
